November 2026 Business Tax Due Dates

As fall settles in across Connecticut and we move toward the holiday season, November brings a fresh round of important business tax deadlines. Whether you are running a small S-Corp or a growing local business, staying ahead of these dates is key to maintaining your compliance.

At CPA Consulting Services, we believe in straightforward guidance so you can focus on running your business. To help you stay on track, take a moment to review the upcoming payroll tax deposits, employment tax filings, and other reporting obligations due this month.

Tax planning and organization

November 2: Employer W-4 Updates

During November, ask employees who expect changes to their tax withholding for 2027 to complete a new Form W-4 or Form W-4(SP) and submit it to their employer.

November 2: Social Security, Medicare, and Withheld Income Tax

Employers must file Form 941 for the third quarter of 2026. Deposit or pay any undeposited tax under the accuracy of deposit rules. If your tax liability is less than $2,500, you can pay it in full with a timely filed return. If you deposited the tax for the quarter in full and on time, you have until November 10 to file the return.

November 2: Certain Small Employers

You must deposit any undeposited tax if your tax liability is $2,500 or more for 2026, but less than $2,500 for the third quarter.

November 2: Federal Unemployment Tax (FUTA)

Deposit the tax owed through September if the amount is more than $500.

November 10: Extended Deadline for Form 941

File Form 941 for the third quarter of 2026. This extended due date applies only if you deposited the tax for the quarter in full and on time.

November 16: Monthly Deposit Rules

If the monthly deposit rule applies to your business, deposit the Social Security, Medicare, and withheld income tax for payments made in October. Additionally, if the monthly deposit rule applies to your nonpayroll withholding, you must deposit the tax for payments made in October.

Weekend and Holiday Rules

Keep in mind that if a due date falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday, the due date is automatically extended until the next business day that is not itself a legal holiday.

Disaster Area Extensions

Please note that when a geographical area is designated as a disaster area, due dates may be extended. For more information about whether an area has been designated a disaster area and the applicable filing extension dates, visit the following websites:
