There is a moment that happens in my office — and it happens more than you might think — when someone sits across from me, starts talking about their taxes, and ends up talking about their life. About the country they left behind. The dream they are building. The future they are working so hard to protect.

I never rush those moments. Because that is exactly where the real work begins.

I grew up around accounting. My uncle was a public accountant in India, and from an early age I understood that this work, at its heart, is an act of service. It is about standing beside someone in the middle of something complicated and saying — I understand this. You are not alone. Let me help.

That belief brought me to the United States, where I made a deliberate choice to earn my credentials the hard way — sitting for the CPA examination, earning my IRS Enrolled Agent designation, and completing my MBA in Accounting at Oakland University, Rochester Hills, Michigan. These, alongside my Chartered Accountant qualification from ICAI, India (2006), give me something rare — genuine mastery of two of the world’s most complex tax systems, earned through years of real work, not shortcuts.

Much of my early client foundation was built during my years at Freeman Tax Law in Birmingham, Michigan, where I served as International Tax Accountant from 2017 to 2021. When the firm transitioned in 2019, several of its clients chose to continue their journey with me — a trust I have never taken lightly and have worked every day to honour. Many of those relationships remain at the heart of my practice today.

Over the past decade I have built deep technical expertise working with leading firms including PwC, RODL & Partner, and Sax LLP while simultaneously running DrCr Financial Services LLC — bringing corporate-grade international tax strategy directly to the individuals, families, and business owners who deserve it just as much as any large corporation.

What I bring to every engagement is not just technical knowledge. It is 18 years of experience across two continents. It is the perspective of someone who has navigated foreign systems, built something from scratch, and understands firsthand what is at stake when the numbers have to be right.

My daughter captured it better than I ever could. In a Mother’s Day letter she wrote:

It’s crazy to me every time a stranger begins opening up about their life problems to you — but I’m not even surprised anymore. Your ability to see what people need from you and give them exactly that is so awesome.

I read that and thought — yes. That is exactly it. That is what I want every client to feel.

Tax is technical. But the reason people come to me is deeply human. They are trying to do right by their families. They are trying to build something meaningful. They are trying to make sure that everything they have worked so hard for is protected — legally, strategically, and completely.
